Emily’s Notes
There is something special about homemade bread. The smell filling the kitchen, a warm slice fresh from the oven, and the simple joy of making something from scratch for the people you love.
This soft sandwich bread has become one of my favorite recipes to make for our family. It makes two loaves, which is perfect for keeping one on hand for the week and sharing the other with friends, neighbors, or storing for later. Honestly though, if you are anything like my family, you’ll have the two loaves gone in a day or two – it’s just that good.
After moving back to Uganda, baking bread at home has become one of those small routines that makes our house feel even more like home. It reminds me that sometimes the most meaningful moments are found in ordinary things — a homemade meal, a shared table, and time spent caring for the people around us.
This bread is soft, dependable, and perfect for everything from school lunches to morning toast. Once you make homemade sandwich bread, it’s hard to go back.
